Q: Can I send flowers directly to the funeral home?

A: Yes, flowers can be sent directly to Davenport and Harris Funeral Home.  Any floral tributes that are sent to the funeral home will be given to the family of the deceased.

Q: Does your funeral home endorse any florist?

A: No.  We are not allowed to endorse any particular florist, but we have included a link that offers a full list of florists serving the Birmingham area.

Q: What time will the deceased's body be ready for viewing?

A: An individual is ready for public viewing only after the individual's family has first viewed the body.  So, it is best that you contact the funeral home after 12 noon of the day prior to the funeral to find out the exact time of viewing.

Q: Where are you located, and is there parking?  

A: We are located at 301 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. SW.  Our bulding is situated across the street from  
    Elmwood Cemetery.  Yes, parking is located directly on the Davenport and Harris property.


Q: What is a Pre-Need? 

A: A Pre-Need is the purchase of burial and funeral goods and services prior to death.  A Pre-Need contract allows an individual to plan a funeral of his or her choosing.
